  2. When Sunday 6 December 2026 The first Sunday of the holidays.
  3. Fire’s lit 12:30 SAST Broodjies on the coals at 15:00. Stay till 19:00.
  4. Where The Coetzee Lapa Pretoria East, Gauteng
  5. Bring Your own drinks & a camp chair We’ve got the meat, the bread and the ice.
  6. Wear Shorts, slops & a hat There’s a pool. Pack a costume and a towel.

Sunday Braai

A long, lazy Sunday around the fire. Wors and chops first, then a round of braaibroodjies when the coals go grey, and nobody’s in a rush to leave.

For the record, and for anyone who wants to argue about it on the day.

  1. White bread, buttered on the outside.
  2. Mature cheddar, sliced, not grated.
  3. Tomato, with salt and black pepper.
  4. Raw onion rings. Not optional.
  5. A proper smear of apricot chutney.
  6. Into the grid, over coals gone grey. Turn it often, and walk away never.
